Denver police are investigating two shootings that happened on Colfax overnight, leaving one person dead and another in the hospital.
Officers responded to a shooting in the 8200 block of Colfax early Monday morning, the Denver Police Department first posted on X, the social media platform previously known as Twitter, at 1:42 a.m.

When officers arrived, they found one victim dead at the scene, according to the post. The identity of the victim will be released by the Denver Office of the Medical Examiner.
No suspect information has been released at this time.
Earlier that night, at 10:43 p.m. Sunday, the Denver Police Department had posted about another shooting on Colfax — in the 8800 block.
One person was transported to a local hospital and officers are working to develop suspect information, according to police.
