Jason Arroyo, who shot and killed a woman over a dispute about children playing in a yard in Denver, has been convicted of first-degree murder.
A jury Wednesday found Arroyo guilty in the September 2020 murder of Patricia Cruz, 55, the Denver District Attorney’s Office said in a post on X.

On Sept. 6, 2020, Arroyo threw water on children playing in a yard near 35th Avenue and Lipan Street, according to a probable cause statement, and when a dispute started, he left and returned with a gun.
Arroyo fired about six shots and two people were hit, the court document said.
Cruz died almost two weeks after being shot.
Arroyo faces a mandatory sentence of life in prison without the possibility of parole, the District Attorney’s Office said. He is scheduled to be sentenced Dec. 1.
